Cerebellar Nuclei

From medial to lateral, the three cerebellar nuclei (asterisks) are: fastigeal, interpositus, and dentate. The fastigeal nucleus projects to the vestibular nuclei and the reticular formation (hindbrain). The interpositus nucleus projedts to the red nucleus (midbrain). The dentate nucleus (lateral nucleus) projects to the cerebral cortex via the thalamus. The nuclei receive cortical input from three longitudinal zones. Note: The caudal cerebellar peduncle is labeled (C).
