Three Cerebellar Peduncles

The rostral cerebellar peduncle (yellow) carries cerebellar efferent fibers to the red nucleus and thalamus. The middle cerebellar peduncle (red) is composed of transverse pontine fibers (afferent). The caudal cerebellar peduncle (blue) conveys spinal and vestibular afferent fibers and efferent fibers to vestibular nuclei and the reticular formation. Click for other views.
