Canine Geniculate Nuclei Transection
Transverse section through a canine brain (white matter is stained blue). The caudal end of the thalamus (th) is deep to the geniculate nuclei (bodies). The lateral geniculate nucleus (lg) is dorsal to the medial geniculate nucleus (mg). The canine pineal body (p) is evident. (Note: This is a transition section and the ventral portion of the brainstem resembles midbrain.) To view the previous section, click here.
