Urogenital Anomalies - Image 15
Hypospadias in a dog. This term refers to an abnormal opening of the urethra (arrow). In most cases the abnormal opening occurs on the ventral surface of the penis but in females it occurs on the perineum. The male/female ratio is 15:1. This is a rare condition that has been seen most often in Boston Terriers. Courtesy of Drs. R. Hardy and M. Root Kustritz, (JAVMA 227:887-888, 2005).
