Double extra digit on the hind limb of a Burmese Mountain Dog. Digit one, a dew claw, is always present on the canine forelimb but is usually absent on the hind limb. Therefore, presence of dewclaw on the hind limb of a dog could be considered to be a case of polydactylism because it is an “extra” digit. One dewclaw is attached to a small metatarsal (arrow) while the other is not.
