Cardiovascular Anomalies - Image 14
Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in a 3 year old Golden Retriever. Because blood is shunted from the aorta to the pulmonary circuit and back to the left heart there is increased flow through these structures leading to marked enlargement of the aortic arch (1) and moderate bulging of the pulmonary trunk (2).
