Cleft palate in newborn pigs on the right and middle. On the left is a bilateral hare lip (arrows) and the middle has a unilateral hare lip (arrow) associated with a short unilateral cleft palate. The pig on the right has a long bilateral cleft palate associated with a thin nasal septum but the ventral conchae are well developed.
