Spinal and Bulbar Roots of the Accessory Nerve

The spinal root of the accesory nerve originates from SE neurons located in the intermediate region of most of the cervical spinal cord. The bulbar root comes from nucleus ambiguus. The bulbar root immediately joins the vagus nerve (and becomnes recurrent laryngeal nerve).
