Cochlear Division of the Vestibulocochlear Nerve

The cochlear nerve, which consists of axons from the spiral ganglion of the cochlea, conveys hearing information to dorsal and ventral cochlear nuclei. Axons from cochlear nuclei form the trapezoid body and proceed to activate other components of the auditory pathway.

Note: The vestibular division of the vestibulocochlear nerve is presented elsewhere in this Lab4.
