Telencephalon

The telencephalon is outlined in red on this medial view of a bisected canine brain. Two cerebral hemispheres (cerebrumn) and the lamina terminalis constitute the telencephalon. Right and left cerebral hemispheres communicate via a large bundle of commissural fibers, called the corpus callosum (colored red).

Each cerebral hemisphere has surface elevations (gyri) delineated by grooves (sulci). Sulci mark the motor and somatosensory areas of the cerebral cortex.
