Myelencephalon (Dorsal View)

The myelencephalon is outlined in red in this dorsal view of the brainstem. The floor of the fourth ventricle (14) can be seen in the medulla oblongata and pons. From medial to lateral, observe the nucleus gracilis (17), cuneate nucleus (15), fasciculuis cuneatus (1), and the spinal tract of the trigeminal nerve (18). The caudal cerebellar peduncle (RB = restiform body) is also labeled.
