Cerebellum in Section

The cerebellum (and myelencephalon) have been transected. The surface gray matter (which has a two-tone appearance) is cerebellar cortex. Cerebellar white matter (stained blue) is deep to the cortex. Cerebellar nuclei (asterisks) are in the depths of the white matter. Notice that the cerebellar vermis circles around and extends into the region of the fourth ventricle
