Neuron Cell Columns and Nuclei

Within the spinal cord, multipolar neuron cell bodies are organized into columns of cells. Some columns run the entire length of the spinal cord, others are restricted to just some segments. Some cell columns are densely populated, other columns are less dense. When the spinal cord is transected, profiles of the cell columns form collections of neurons that are called nuclei.
