Sheep Brain — Lateral View
Lateral view of a sheep brain with the internal capsule transected. The rostral colliculus (rc) and the caudal colliculus (cc) form the tectum (roof) of the midbrain. Axons travel from the caudal colliculus to the medial geniculate (mg) through the brachium of the caudal colliculus (asterisk). The crus cerebri (cr) is evident on the ventral surface of the midbrain.
