Situated above the brainstem, the cerebellum features deep gray matter called nuclei (asterisks), white matter (wm), and superficial gray matter called cerebellar cortex. The cerebellar surface is thrown into ridges and grooves, respectively called folia (F) and sulci (S). Also labeled are: choroid plexus (cp) and cranial nerves six (VI) and seven (VII).
