Pronghorn Antelope Skull
The American pronghorn antelope is the fastest runner of new world animals. It can reach speeds of 45 mph (vs. 35 mph for horse record). The horns differ from typical horns of cattle, sheep and goats in several ways. The bony core is solid rather than hollow, and the horny covering resembles stiff hairs "glued" together by a waxy material rather than true horny material.
