Blood Supply
The blood supply to the lower urinary tract of the male cat is illustrated. The internal iliac artery supplies all pelvic viscera. One of its branches, the umbilical artery, supplies cranial vesical arteries to the apex of the bladder. Another branch, the internal pudendal artery, terminates in the vestibule/penis. Before terminating the artery gives off a vaginal/prostatic artery that also supplies the bladder (caudal vesical arteries), urethra, and ureter.
