This is a right cerebral hemisphere from a sheep. The ventral portion of the hemisphere (ventral to the lateral rhinal sulcus) is the rhinencephalon. The rhinencephalon is covered by three-layered paleocortex. Six-layered neocortex is found dorsal to the lateral rhinal sulcus. For the other image, click here.
