Equine Brainstem — Lateral View

The pons is visible in this lateral view of the equine brainstem. Transverse pontine fibers of the pons form the middle cerebellar peduncle, through which the trigeminal nerve exits. The motor branch of the trigeminal nerve emerges separately from the rest of the trigeminal nerve.
