Specimen image
The pyramid is evident along the ventral surface of the medulla oblongata. Pyramidal tracts decussate at the brain-spinal juncture. Rootlets of the hypoglossal nerve are evident dorsolateral to the decussation. A red pic is inserted in the trapezoid body; further laterally, facial and vestibulocochlear nerves can be seen. The choroid plexus has protruded through the lateral foramen of the fourth ventricle. Click here, for the other view.
