Just prior to entering the site of the vascular lacuna (1), external iliac vessels (2) give off deep femoral vessels (3) which give rise to a pudendoepigastric trunk (4) and continue as medial circumflex femoral vessels (5). The latter supplies adductor (6) and other muscles via transverse (7) and deep (8) branches. In the femoral triangle, the femoral artery (9) gives off (individually or combined) a superficial circumflex iliac a. (10) and a lateral circumflex femoral a. (11). Also notice the proximal caudal femoral a. (12), the saphenous a. (13) and the saphenous nerve (asterisks).
