Obliquely transverse section through the caudal abdomen, including the prepuce and pelvic viscera. Notice the rectum (1), the prostatic urethra (arrow) surrounded by prostate gland (2), and a ductus deferens (3) about to penetrate the prostate gland. Ventrally, identify the penile urethra (4) surrounded by corpus spongiosum penis situated within a groove of the os penis (5). A small piece of the glans (6) is evident, as is preputial cavity (7) between the skin of the penis and skin lining the prepuce.
Also identify: rectus abdominis m. (8), femoral vessels (9), caudal gluteal vessels (10), iliospsoas m. (11), and body of the ilium (12).
