The caudal mesenteric ganglion (1) is situated in the caudal mesenteric plexus (2) on the caudal mesenteric a. (3). Right and left hypogastric nerves (4) run from the caudal mesenteric ganglion toward the pelvic plexus. Lumbar splanchnic nerves (arrows) run from the sympathetic trunk to the caudal mesenteric plexus and to other plexuses around the aorta.

Also, find the major splanchnic n. (5), celiac a. (6), cranial mesenteric a. (7), kidney (8), and the rectum (9) entering the pelvic inlet.
