Transverse section through the perineum and scotum: Within the single scrotum (1) there are two compartments each containing a testis (2) and an epididymis (3). A spermatic cord contains vessels that go to the testis and a ductus deferens that conveys sperm from the epididymis. Elements of the penis are visible: penile urethra (4), erectile tissue (5), and extrinsic muscles (6).
