Cat dissection: The left subclavian a. (1) gives off four branches before becoming an axillary a. (forceps) lateral to the first rib. The vertebral a. (2) enters a canal in cervical vertebrae. The costocervical trunk (3) supplies the first three intercostal aa. The superficial cervical a. (4) runs toward the superficial cervical lymph node, and the internal thoracic a. (5) runs along the sternum. Also, find the brachiocephalic trunk (6) and common carotid arteries (7).

Visible veins include: cranial vena cava (8), right brachiocephalic v. (9), right subclavian v. (10), and the right external jugular v. (11).
