Isolated heart, cranial view. A probe has elevated the ligamentum arteriosum, which runs between the pulmonary trunk (1) and the aortic arch (2), The left pulmonary artery (3) has been cut away exposing blue latex. The pulmonary trunk arises from the conus arteriosus (4) region of the right ventricle (5). The right auricle (6) and right atrium (7) are evident. Identify: the left auricle (8), the left atrium (9) receiving pulmonary veins, and the left ventricle (10), separated from the left atrium by the coronary groove (11).
