Cat dissection. In preparation for opening the thoracic cavity, reflect muscles from the right side of the thoracic wall. Cut the aponeurosis of the latissimus dorsi m. (1) and reflect the muscle cranially. Incise the rib attachments of the external abdominal oblique m. (2) and reflect it caudally and ventrally. Notice the rectus abdominis m. (3), the deep pectoral m. (4) and the internal abdominal oblique m. (5).
