Cat, left antebrachium (caudal view) and manus (palmar view). Three of the caudal group of antebrachial mm. are labeled: pronator teres m. (1), flexor carpi radialis m. (2), and superficial digital flexor m. (3). A probe has elevated the superficial digital flexor tendon just proximal to flexor retinaculum of the carpus. Musculature over the probe represent a short digital flexor m. This muscle plus various digital flexor and adductor small muscles (4) are well developed in the cat. Notice the large metacarpal pad (5) and four digital pads (6).
