Canine Vertebral Nerve
Left lateral view of a canine vertebral nerve leaving a cervicothoracic ganglion and joining the vertebral artery. (The nerve runs through transverse canals in cervical vertebrae and sends branches to rami comunicantes of cervical spinal nerves.) Also visible are a ramus communicans and sympathetic trunk entering the cervicothoracic ganglion and two limbs of the ansa subclavia leaving the ganglion to join the middle cervical ganglion and cervical sympathetic trunk, within the vagosympathetic trunk.
