Three Cranial Nerve Parasympathetic Nuclei
Drawing of parasympathetic pathways for three cranial nerves, from Miller's Anatomy of the Dog textbook. The oculomotor nerve synapses in the ciliary ganglion and innervates ciliary and pupillary constrictor smooth muscles. The facial nerve synapses in the pterygopalatine ganglion to innervate lacrimal and nasal glands and in the mandibular ganglion to innervate mandibular and sublingual salivary glands. The glosssopharyngeal nerve synapses in the otic ganglion and innervates parotid and zygomatic salivary glands.
